As part of the medical staff at BIDMC, Dr. Nagle introduced, developed and continues to promote the use of minimally invasive colorectal surgical techniques. Dr. Nagle was part of the team that developed the port of single incision laparoscopic surgery and began the first robotic colon and rectal surgery program in Massachusetts.
Accomplished in her field, Dr. Nagle has been recognized here in Boston five times with Best Doctors honors; most recently in 2011. She has also been recognized on the national level receiving America's Top Doctors for Cancer honors in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The Division of Colon and Rectal surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center offers expertise for patients with disorders and cancers of the colon, rectum and intestine.
Our surgeons specialize in the surgical management of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. We offer therapy for common disorders, including hemorrhoids, complex anal fistulae and anal condyloma.
Our pelvic-floor facility assesses evacuation disorders such as fecal incontinence or outlet obstructions and nonrelaxing puborectalis. Anorectal manometry and physiologic assessment is available through collaborative programs with gastroenterology and radiology.
Gastroenterologists and colon and rectal surgeons perform 15,000 screening, surveillance and diagnostic colonoscopies annually, offering some of the shortest wait times in New England.
