As executive vice chair, Dr. Afzali will be the clinical leader for the Department of Internal Medicine and provide oversight for clinical operations within UC Physicians and UC Health. She will oversee the clinical components of the department that integrate with the College of Medicine, UC Physicians, UC Health, Cincinnati Children’s, and Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Additionally, she will work with senior leadership within the department and at UC Health to increase clinical volume, provide administrative oversight for all advanced practice providers in the department and work closely with the faculty of the college, clinical staff, and UC Health to ensure safe and effective care is provided to patients across all internal medicine subspecialties.
